Sunday Newspapers
Papers Past, despite acquiring old newspapers like crazy magpies, have not been able to get hold of many Sunday editions. Sundays are few and far between and, when available, often trade at a premium.
For pre-1990 dates most of the archive stock was purchased from Libraries, Government Departments and Universities in big bound volumes. They only opened and collected newspapers on Monday to Saturday. They were closed on Sundays and did not save that newspaper for their records - shame.
That is why, on the Delivery Info. page www.paperspast.co.uk/newspaperdelivery.html we exclude Sunday editions...but all is not lost.
...Dad (Ian) was born on Sunday 22nd July 1956 and I could not even find his Birthdate paper so I had a look at the following days paper and was thrilled to read in some detail the news and events of the 22nd - with that date either mentioned or referred to throughout the various articles. So, by getting the next day or even the day before, it was possible to get a really good insight in to the news and adverts from his birthdate.
Also, I treated Dad to one of the £2.99, 30 page Birthday Books for 22nd July which, together with the paper, tied everything back to the 22nd July.
So if you order a Sunday we'll send the Monday (which gives the Sunday's news) along with a short letter of explanation for you to personalise and enclose along with the newspaper gift.
Sunday problem solved - Dad loved it - well, he must have done as he's read most of the paper out to us about six times.
Sam.
