Newspaper Birthday Gift, Birthday Gift ideas,Birthdate Anniversay Gifts,Someone's Birthday,Genuine Times Newspapers

Here are a few tips on how to look after your gift newspaper after it has been read and enjoyed. All of the Times Birthdate or Anniversary Newspapers that we sell at Papers Past are original, genuine editions and are NOT reprinted or copied off so they deserve to be kept and stored in a way that maintains their condition.
The best way to do this is to handle them gently and, whenever possible, keep them flat and unfolded. Another good idea is to store the archive edition out of direct sunlight so if you have chosen to frame the paper ensure that its position on the wall is in a shaded area of the room. By keeping your special date newspaper away from any heat source you will ensure that it does not become too dry and brittle. I can always remember once, back in the 1980's, I went on a buying trip to Central London just opposite the Houses of Parliament to view a collection of bound volumes of The Times. They were kept in an underground storage vault and were being offered for sale at a reasonable price so I was hopeful of "doing a deal" but on examining the individual issues it was obvious that they had been kept in a heated and very dry atmosphere and had become so brittle that even by just touching them they turned to dust. Needless to say I did not buy them for the Papers Past archive, such a shame.
Finally, this year, we have included with every old Times sold two sheets of acid free wrapping paper. This special paper should be lightly wrapped around your gift newspaper whilst it is not being read thus further protecting it from outside influences such as dust.
By using some or all of the above ideas you should be able to better maintain the condition of your newspaper from the past so that it can be read and enjoyed by everyone for years to come.
