Whether its a 60th Birthday Present or 60th Wedding Anniversary a special date 1950 gift packed Times Newspaper makes the ideal gift, especially for those difficult to buy for people. So much so that one date in particular, the 2nd September 1950, became a bit of a problem yesterday as we thought that we had sold out of all the archive back issues for that day. Both Sam and I went through each of the many 1950 volumes of Times newspapers only to find that 2nd September '50 was missing in each one, but we did not give up. Just as well as a batch of Sept 1950 newspapers had been slipped, unseen between two volumes. They were full and complete papers, mostly The Times and all in really good condition, a whole months worth and more than one per day. Certainly an exciting find and we were especially pleased to see that there were four newspapers from 2nd September 1950, we used one for the outstanding order and carefully replaced all of the others in to a volume. So, we can easily fulfill three more orders for that date. The reason it was a popular date was that it was a Saturday back then and customers have been buying them not just for people born on that day but those who were married on the Saturday.
