Birthday Newspaper Company Papers Past is on Twitter!

Our back issue newspaper archive many go back to the 19th century but Papers Past is looking to the future when it comes to social media and connecting with you our customers. With the archive holding over a 120 tons of old newspapers we have a wealth of reading material to share with you. I hold my hands up and admit that I can often be found out in the newspaper warehouse reading these original newspapers when I really should be getting on with my work as we aim to dispatch orders as soon as they are placed. I am regularly drawn towards the 1984 part of the archive as that is the year that I was born. Looking back at the 80's fashion is so amusing but I've noticed that it is now all coming back in (they do say that fashion goes in cycles). With my special dated newspaper from the day that I was born I can tell you that Family Fortunes was on the TV and that a new born Prince Harry was just settling into Royal life. I could carry on telling you about other news and events, as everything in my Birthday newspaper is so special and personal to me, and that is why birthdate newspapers make a great gift.
Blogging is a great way to share headlines and old adverts from the historic newspapers but we all lead a busy life and sometimes don't have the time to sit down and read a blog or two. That is why Papers Past can now be found on Twitter at www.twitter.com/PapersPast or just enter PapersPast in the "Find People" search a link is also at www.paperspast.co.uk . Twitter is a great way to share short newspaper headlines, news and events of the day along with communicating with our followers. A new feature which we will be posting on our blog page and also on Twitter will highlight descriptions and actual photos from old Times newspapers of houses for sale, job adverts, product adverts ( I can remember seeing one of the first Polo mint adverts in a 1948 newspaper) and fashion of the time. These photos will come direct from Papers Past's newspaper archive so you will have a behind the scenes look at the old newspaper collection. We" Tweet" (post) daily on Twitter so why not follow us and amaze your freinds and family with interesting historical headlines, news and facts. Sam Willsher www.paperspast.co.uk
