While getting out some May 1960 Newspaper orders from the Newspaper Archive I came across this great photo.

It shows Sterling Moss with his trophy after winning the Monaco Grand Prix, standing with him are Prince Rainer and Princess Grace of Monaco. Just the other day I was watching the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix and Sir Sterling Moss presented the Winners Trophy to Mark Webber. I wonder if back in May 1960 Sterling Moss would of thought he would be in the same place 50 years later presenting the trophy to someone else?

I must admit (don't tell Dad as he didn't stop), when moving these old historical newspapers I stopped and had a quick flick through the pages. It was great to see that these back issue newspapers were in top condition considering they are from the 1920's and over 90 years old. I could of carried on reading them for ages but I don't think Dad would of appreciated moving all of them by himself!

Birthdate newspaper archive spring clean

Yesterday was a really busy day in the newspaper archive.

There is an area towards the back of the store which hasn't been touched for years so the time had come for us to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in and move and organise loads of volumes of back editions.

In fact it didn't take very long and we unearthed a wealth of great "day you were born" Financial Times papers as well as some really interesting 1941 Times. The other rather scary thing we unearthed was a huge spider. Sam thinks its a deadly "Black Widow" spider, have a look at the picture to see if you can identify it and let us know.
